Welcome!
The vibrant coastal city of Halifax is the capital of Nova Scotia, a province located on the East coast of Canada.
With a population of just under a half million people, Halifax is the perfect combination of a big city with a small-town feel.

Steeped in history, this city still holds windows to the past. Visitors can experience life as a soldier in the 1700s at the Halifax Citadel, shop or dine in the Historic Properties (an area on the waterfront that features Victorian-Italianate façades from the 1700s), or sample the beer at one of North America’s oldest working breweries.

While a connection to the past is Halifax’s foundation, building towards the future is also a key part of its identity. With an ever-changing skyline, a growing business sector, and a diverse arts and entertainment scene, it has developed into a modern urban centre.
Known for its hospitality, one of the first things you’ll notice is how friendly the locals are. From holding the door open, stopping the car to let pedestrians pass, or buying a drink for a new friend, you’ll quickly see that Haligonians are a big part of their city’s charm.
There are so many reasons to visit, make sure Halifax tops your bucket list!
I just read all of your articles and enjoyed them, Melanie! You are a very skilled writer….continue to post your travel experiences, as I’m sure there will be many morel
