Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel
$$$$
What stands out most about this hotel is its location. The Marriott Harbourfront is situated on the beautiful Halifax Waterfront. The hotel is connected to a series of pedways, which allows visitors to walk from the hotel to places like the Casino Nova Scotia, Scotiabank Centre, and the Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre, without ever going outdoors. The hotel is also within walking distance of a number of great pubs and restaurants.
The Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites
$$$$
The Lord Nelson was built in the 1920s and has retained its old-fashioned charm through recent renovations. The hotel borders the busiest street east of Montreal, Spring Garden Road, where you can find an array of unique shops and restaurants. It also overlooks Halifax’s historic Public Gardens – a 16-acre Victorian garden and National Historic Site of Canada. The Lord Nelson is also within easy walking distance of the World Trade and Convention Centre and Scotiabank Centre.

The Westin is a grand hotel, which originally opened its doors in 1930. Over the years, the Westin has hosted a number of famous people, including Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana, and, rumour has it, the Backstreet Boys when they played Halifax back in their prime. The Westin is located in the south end of the city, near The Canadian Museum of Immigration, the Halifax Seaport Farmers Market, and the cruise ship terminal. The Westin is not as conveniently located to the downtown core as other hotels, however, its style and grandeur can make up for the extra walking. There are some great places to eat, coffee shops, and a large grocery store nearby as well.
Four Points by Sheraton Halifax
$$$$
This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Halifax, close to the waterfront and all other major downtown attractions. Plus, it is within stumbling distance of the famous Alexander Keith’s Brewery, a bonus if sampling some local suds is on your to-do list!
